HI all,
This week’s share holds tomatoes! You will receive cherry tomatoes and a large bag of heirloom tomatoes. Also, salad mix, tomatillos, a lovely onion, beans, hot peppers, cukes/zukes, kale, and herbs (either cilantro, parsley or chives). From the Casson farm there will be green peppers, salad turnip and celery.
Fortunately, the hurricane was pretty mild for us. Our fava beans were knocked over and the tomatoes look a little worse for wear, plus the giant jerusalem artichokes in the front yard were sideways (it would be hard to kill those)! The main thing affected were our apple and pear crops, and those don’t go in the CSA box.
Oliver turned 2 this week and we had a little party to celebrate. He loved his digger cake (mostly the icing), opening his gifts and eating all the yummy tomatoes from the snack tray.
